For much of my life, I felt the pressure to become who I thought I should be.
 
To fit into expectations.
To fit into boxes.
To fit into carefully constructed molds.
 
Even in my faith, I sometimes believed I needed to perform well, strive harder, or become a different version of myself before I could fully please God.
 
But God has been teaching me something altogether different.
 
In His spacious love,
I am learning to simply be—
 
unmistakably chosen,
carefully crafted for a beautiful purpose,
dearly, deeply beloved.
 
Not because I became a better version of myself.
 
But because I belong to Him.
 
Because He delights in me.
 
This painting emerged from that journey.
 
A journey away from striving and toward abiding.

Away from performing and toward belovedness.

Away from fitting into a mold and toward becoming fully alive as the person God created me to be.
 
He brought me into a spacious place.
 
A place where I can
breathe deeply,
rest freely, and
simply be.
